First Day of... WORK

At Arena Hotel.

9am - 3pm...

Quite fun actually...Had the best, awesomest lady - Ronnie - training me ^^ who has been working there as an receptionist for 9 years!!

Atm too dead to remember job description but it was TONS of things... tons of LITTLE things haha

Firstly - prepared all the check-in + check-out lists n check out time was 10am... but one extended to 11 and another one at 12...
Fairly simple...hang the returned room key up + check payment stuff in guest registry

ooo!! I can use an eftpos machine now!!

arranged ("watched") a few taxi/shuttle bookings... i did write a slip tho!

also arranged ("watched") two phones bookings ... i entered the booking into the computer tho!

Counted the till balance... using petty cash book and this other massive pink book><

Stapled paper tags to luggage >___<

Sold 3 washing tokens + 1 phone card lol. oso gotta enter into computer

Made like 4 false bookings for practice ( + fun)

There were a number of times when nothing happens. NOTHING. soooo:

• chatted with Ronnie about christmases etc...
• computer games - minesweeper, pinball, solitare
  
• stare at the security cameras... >___<
• twirl around on the wheely chairs ^^; n look professional wen ppl walk in >__<
  
• drink/eat
• do word puzzles

This would never happen when there is a concert going on... = full on work><

One time Ronnie went to toilet and came bak as a pretend walk-in haha... another dummy booking to practice with .....*coughs* to kill time *coughs*
She also let me read her diary/journal ish entries that she writes during these silent times
...a book titled "Life as a Receptionist"
